Noemie Lenoir was born on September 19, 1979 in Les Ulis, Essonne, France. Her mother comes from Réunion and has Malagasy ancestry. Her family moved first to Gif-sur-Yvette and then to Versailles where she was discovered as she was buying stamps at a post office near her home on September 1998 .

Lenoir was first spotted by Ford Models when she was 16 years of age. Her modeling career is propelled into the upper echelons of the fashion industry. Mario Testino, Peter Lindbergh and etc... have all photographed her, and her magazine appearances include the US edition of Vogue, Elle and Marie-Claire. Her first magazine shoot was for Marie Claire in Paris. She's also campaigned for Ralph Lauren, The Gap, Victoria's Secret, Gucci and others.

Noemie talked about her sudden fame : "I never really enjoy being recognized. I'm not from a show business background, and it is strange to realize that everyone is waiting for me."

Rapidly approaching national goddess status since she made the cover of French edition of Sport Illustrated, she is rarely out of the public eye over here.
In 2001, Lenoir signed with L'Oréal, and has since appeared in their advertisements alongside Laetitia Casta and long-term model and actress Andie MacDowell. She has also worked for Victoria's Secret, Gap, Next, and many others. Lenoir is currently the face of UK high-street retailer Marks & Spencer, and can be seen in various British magazines and billboards alongside fellow models Twiggy and Laura Bailey.

After a relationship with rapper Stomy Bugsy, she married international football player Claude Makélélé of Paris Saint-Germain. They have a son named Kelyan Makélélé (born 2 February 2005).

She is now living in New York, just because it's easier to work. With her emerald eyes, epic hair and killer walk, Noemie rapidly becames the darling of the fashion set, and in particulary, of her agency : Ford.
